The Daytrana Patch: Skin Effects

Reducing Skin Reactions

Following these steps can help reduce and manage skin reactions from Daytrana®

  • Educate families about alternating patch application sites daily
  • Avoid irritants
  • Reduce the occurrence of skin reactions with good skincare practices
  • Emollients may suffice for temporary relief of irritant reactions at previous patch sites
  • Creams and ointments should not be applied immediately prior to patch application

If symptoms suggestive of contact sensitization (allergic contact dermatitis) develop, Daytrana treatment should be discontinued.

Some patients sensitized to Daytrana may not be able to take methylphenidate in any form.
